These days you can buy anything instantly. You look for a shirt, click order and know exactly what's coming. A mystery football shirt box turns that around: you choose the direction, we choose the shirt. The moment you open the box is the moment you see it.
In this article we explain exactly how it works: what's in a box, how we choose the shirts, what you can decide yourself and what happens if you don't like a shirt.
Why a mystery box?
Football is all about excitement. You never know exactly what's going to happen, and that's what makes it great. A mystery box brings that feeling to your doorstep. You know there's a good shirt inside, but not which one. Maybe a club you've followed for years, maybe a shirt you'd never have picked yourself that becomes your new favourite.
It's also a different kind of gift. Not a voucher or a standard shirt from a shop, but something to open together.
What's in a box?
Every box contains one football shirt in your size. You only find out which shirt when you open it. You do decide which direction it comes from, by choosing your Kit:
- The Captain (€59.99): a club shirt. From big European clubs to teams you see less often.
- The Anthem (€69.99): a national team shirt. For anyone who loves a European Championship or World Cup most.
- The Legend (€79.99): a retro-style football shirt. Designs from the past, with a story.
- The Queen (€39.99): a shirt from our women's selection.
- The Wonderkid (€39.99): a shirt for the youngest fans, from 6 to 16 years.
All amounts in this article are in euros. If you order in another currency, you'll see the current price on the product page and in your cart.
How it works, step by step
- Choose your Kit and size. You choose one or more boxes, with a size for each box. There's no subscription: you only pay for what you order.
- We put it together. We choose the shirts ourselves. If you order several boxes, you'll never get the same shirt twice in one order.
- Every shirt checked. Before a shirt goes into the box, we check the stitching, the labels and the print. Only when everything is right does the box get closed.
- Shipped fast. If you order on a working day before 17:00 (Dutch time), we send your order the same day with PostNL. If you order later, at the weekend or on a public holiday, we ship on the next working day. Within the Netherlands your parcel usually arrives the next working day. The Signature, the signed shirt by Eljero Elia, has its own shipping date; it's shown on the product page.
- Unboxing. A sturdy black box with gold details, and then the surprise.
What you can decide yourself
You don't choose which shirt you get, but you do have a say:
- The Kit: club, national team, retro, women or kids.
- The size: for each box. Not sure? Read our article Which football shirt size is right for you? first.
- The note: is there a club you'd rather not get, or do you already have a particular shirt? Add it to the note field on the product page. We'll take it into account as far as we can.
- Name and number: want to make the shirt personal? Add a name and shirt number for €6.99.
More boxes, bigger discount
If you order several boxes, the discount goes up automatically. You don't need to enter a code and you can mix Kits:
- 2 boxes: 15% off
- 3 boxes: 25% off
- 4 boxes: 30% off
- 5 or more boxes: 35% off
The Signature has its own bundle price: 2 shirts for €170 and 3 for €225. If you combine The Signature with other Kits, you'll see the discount and the total in your cart before you check out.
Within the Netherlands, shipping is free from €99.99 (the amount after discount).
And if I don't like the shirt?
That can happen, and it's easy to sort out. You have 14 days after receipt to return your order without giving a reason. Let us know about your return at info@mysterykitz.nl and send the shirt back unworn and unwashed, in the condition you received it. The return costs are your own responsibility. Shirts with a name and number cannot be returned, because they were printed especially for you. You'll find everything about returns in our returns policy.

Is it a subscription?
No. You order whenever you like, as often as you like.
Can I choose which shirt I get?
No, that's exactly the surprise. You do choose the Kit. Is there a club you'd rather not get, or do you already have a particular shirt? Add it to the note and we'll take it into account as far as we can.
Does it make a good gift?
Definitely. The box is gift-ready. If the shirt doesn't fit, it can be returned within 14 days of receipt, unless it has been printed with a name and number.
